Commercial & Procurement Manager
Lead commercial and procurement workstreams for renewable energy projects from our Paris – La Défense office.
CGN Europe Energy is looking for a Commercial & Procurement Manager to independently manage commercial and procurement workstreams across assigned renewable energy projects. The role leads contract administration, commercial evaluations, procurement processes and supplier negotiations to support effective contract execution, cost control and contractual compliance.
This is an onsite position based at our Paris – La Défense office and reports to the Team Leader of the Contract Commercial Team.
Key responsibilities
Contract execution and administration
Independently manage contract execution activities across assigned projects.
Monitor contractual obligations, milestones, deliverables, variations and claims.
Ensure contractual compliance, timely issue resolution and effective stakeholder alignment.
Procurement and tendering
Lead procurement processes within assigned categories, including RFP preparation, bid evaluation, clarification management and supplier engagement.
Ensure procurement activities align with project requirements, internal procedures and commercial objectives.
Commercial analysis and negotiation
Conduct commercial evaluations, benchmarking, cost analyses and contractual risk assessments.
Participate actively in supplier negotiations and provide clear commercial recommendations to support decisions and approvals.
Contract risk and change management
Monitor contractual risks, deviations and claims, recommend mitigation actions and coordinate resolution activities.
Prepare and maintain variation orders, contract amendments, approval records and supporting commercial assessments.
Escalate material commercial issues in a timely manner and ensure appropriate follow-up.
Cross-functional coordination
Work closely with technical, finance, legal and project teams to align commercial, procurement and contractual activities.
Maintain accurate and traceable contract, tender and supplier documentation.
Support ad hoc contract reviews, supplier engagement initiatives and procurement improvement projects as required.
Key deliverables
Up-to-date contract tracking files, obligations matrices and compliance records.
RFP documentation, bid comparison tables, supplier assessments and clarification logs.
Commercial evaluations, benchmark studies, cost analyses and recommendation reports.
Contract risk assessments, claims monitoring records and mitigation tracking.
Variation orders, contract amendments and approval documentation.
Required qualifications
Master’s degree in Business, Law, Engineering, Procurement or a related discipline.
Two to five years of relevant experience in procurement, contract management, commercial administration or a related function.
Experience managing commercial or procurement workstreams, supplier negotiations and contract administration activities is preferred.
Good understanding of procurement processes, tendering procedures, contract management and commercial risk management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Professional proficiency in French (C1) and English (C1).
Preferred experience
Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, utilities, EPC contracting or another project-based industry.
Experience with e-procurement systems, contract management platforms, supplier performance tools or ERP solutions.
Chinese or another European language would be an advantage.
Experience working in international and multicultural environments.
